It's December Already

It's December already

So time flies; through a frosty January, lazy February, tiresome March, hot April, tanned May,a blah June-July, rainy August followed by September buzzing with activity (me celebrating my birthday for a week), festive October- November, and it's December already! No, I didn't realize it today, my eureka moment took place on 1st December at 13:05 hours(the old habit of remembering minute details). Moving on, like always the reason for picking on such a random topic, is the impact that December has, it leaves you in a mixed emotional state. If asked to define December in one word, I would say eventful. Though November marks many events in itself, December is that time of the year when the temperature begins dipping down, leaving you with that tingly cold feet, making it difficult to pull yourself out of the bed. This dripping temperature reminds us that Christmas is nearing, a time for togetherness, the fragrance of fresh plump cake, a time to find sock filled with present, and most importantly, a time to reminiscent these childhood memories is nearing!

One of my personal favorite movie associated with Christmas is: Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) from the popular Home Alone series.
What makes this movie my favorite association with Christmas?
The one particular scene, wherein; lost Kevin McCallister and his mom reunite before the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. This very scene, reinforces the 'Make a Wish' notion of December.

As I mentioned in the beginning, December is an eventful month. Of course, it's Christmas and, what makes it all the more eventful, is that 6 days after Christmas, the clock ticking away, marks the beginning of a new year, which intrigues hope, a hope for a better tomorrow.  Loosing weight, quit smoking, learning something new, eating healthy, saving money, traveling new places, being less stressed, form a part of the most commonly broken New Year's Resolution. It's in this month of the year, when all the memories from the entire year, amalgamate making you feel, as if the book you were reading just came to an end. There's happiness, hope and this unsettled state of mind which I refer to as 'The December Sentiment'. This month is eventful even otherwise,  number of weddings, festivals ranging from intra college level to nation wide musical events take place. Sunburn is one of  the biggest example for this eventful- fest'ful (my definition for full of fests) month. It's also vacation time for your friends and family from the other end of the hemisphere. A time when they come home, which makes you keep a tab of the dates and look forward to December, for it to near soon, an awaited time to see a favorite face after a long time.

As I close this chapter, I would like to quote John Geddes:
"December's wintery breath is already clouding the pond, frosting the pane, obscuring summer's memory."

Have an eventful December as happiness jingles your way.

The Namesake

The Namesake

As I think of compiling a new post on this tiresome Tuesday evening, I exactly know the subject I wish to highlight. To begin with, the title, as it says 'The Namesake' is inspired by Jhumpa Lahiri's very first novel The Namesake (2003) which was later made into a movie by Mira Nair, The Namesake (film)
Name: A  noun which plays a dominant role in an individual's life. How is it, that one can define the word Name?
As I search on Google: Name meaning. I find myself with the following result:

   name
neɪm/
noun
  1. 1.
a word or set of words by which a person or thing is known, addressed, or referred to.
    "my name is John Parsons"

The aspect that fascinates me about this result, is the synonyms to the word name: title, denomination, designation, honorific, tag, epithet and label. The synonym which  particularly catches my attention is TAG.
The word Tag in itself, is fascinating enough, as we know tag is a label attached to someone or something. For those of you, who find themselves trapped here; between definitions for basic words, I promise, to not make it a thesaurus lingo, it's just the literal meaning of certain words that never cease to amuse me.
When a child is born, his name is a resultant of endless suggestions, family tree legacy, based on a certain experience by either of the parent, religious and cultural beliefs, and sometimes, even based on the day of the week,a child is born! When I started researching; as to how does an individual's name describes his personality, I happen to come across this interesting piece, which spoke about various superstitions people possess regarding the day of an individual's birth. As per the belief, the day on which an individual is born, has some sort of a magical impact on the individual's personality. Interestingly, the nursery rhyme Monday's Child depicts this ideology.
The nursery rhyme called 'Monday's Child', is considered as a fortune telling song, though it is popular as a nursery rhyme for children. It is intended to help young children remember the days of a week.
Here's the video for the same:

Names and the growing up phase

Name plays an important role at various stages of life, the most obvious one being, 'The Introductory stage', When an individual introduces him/herself, it always begins with a greeting followed by their name. The first exposure to this stage begins at school. Starting with, pre-school level, followed by primary, and secondary schooling.
Phase one to stage 1(Pre-school) : Names don't really make much of a difference in peer groups. Because, during the early phase of life: Childhood, there's merely more to concern, as long as there's sharing a laughter and play.
Stage 2(Primary school): The time, when he/she learns to differentiate between the people they like and dislike. This is the age group, when an individual also start forming silly interpretations of names. I remember from my personal experience, how my fellow classmates broke down my first name: Seema, into 2 syllables See and Ma. They said See characterized the action 'seeing' and Ma: mother, thus Seema means See Mother. It did sound like a funny story then.According to me, the most interesting phase is:
Stage 3: (Secondary school ): The period of time, when people try to shorten their name, present it in a certain fashion in order to sound 'cool'. At 14,I remember some of my friends spelled my first name: Seema, as Cma, oh yes, it was so cool or rather I should say 'kewl', back then. This points out to another incident, which still remains fresh in my memories. Back in 10th grade, during my introductory session with this fellow student, from the academic classes, after hearing my first name, she quickly responded- Your name is Seema?I remember replying, very much. She exclaimed, Well it's so simple!
I wondered then, if simplicity of a name was a such an enormous issue?
It was 2010,I clearly remember, I was a victim viewer of the Indian romantic comedy film, I Hate luv storys. In this movie,Imran khan plays the character of a guy named Jay Dhingra, who fancies being addressed as 'J' or 'Jey' His character in the movie sets a perfect example, of how an individual presents his name in a certain fashion to sound cool. What amused me more was, on the first day of my college which was in August 2010, (just a month after the release of this movie). First year junior college; during the introductory session a guy, named JAY took pride in being addressed as J.

What role does a name play?

Though, the purpose of a name is to give an individual an identity of their own, to act as a 'Title' for every individual, so one does not get mixed up when someone is calling out to a person, every head in the room doesn't have to turn around. Though it's a title, names tend to build an instant impression. When a book is written, each character is named wisely, because the name itself paints a picture of an individual accordingly. The same is applicable with movies, rather any form of story telling. Some of the common character names include:
Katie (nick name for Katherine,Kathleen or Kate), paints a  picture of purity and feminism. A tender looking beautiful girl, a happy person. On the the other hand, an ancient popular name Elizabeth paints the picture of a rich, strong headed, sharp looking girl.
Bollywood has had a similar impact on names. When we come across guys named, Rahul or Raj, the first image that pops in our head, is that of an Indian cinematic character running behind the trees. Whereas, female characters named like Sonia,Tanya are often seen portraying a negative image.
It's just not the character traits that we associate with names, it is also the profession of a person that we associate with a name.
For instance, a name such as Prabhkar Sharma, paints the picture of a Hindi writer, Abhjeet Rai of a singer, and Kunal Singhania of an industrialist.

Off names and Change

Name Changes are often seen as a popular trend specially in the media centric world. It is said that; "When you're a star, a name can make or break your career." Some of the popular celebrity name changes are:

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
 - William Shakespeare

As the title reads, The Namesake. Like my primary classmates, I would also like to the break down the word Namesake in 2 syllables: The 'name' and 'sake',I would say, name change records wouldn't increase rapidly,if we start considering name only for it's sake. After all; the rose by any other name would smell as sweet!

Have a contented week.

One Unit, Variable Personalities

One Unit, Variable Personalities

To begin with, like most of my other posts this one isn't arbitrary, written out of boredom. This is something based on series of experience. So anyway, I've always wondered what is an office unit all about. I hope most of you who still haven't started working yet think about it too. Otherwise this subject will add up to the list of things based on my futile thinking . Getting back to the topic, offices vary depending upon the workforce and mechanics, of course it varies technically, mechanically and blah. But I believe beyond everything else,an office is all about the people. The people working in an office make it what it is. After all they are the one's who build up the whole atmosphere of it. To be honest, from a layman's point of view,me for that matter, an office is one of the most dull places filled with bored, worried, confused and some rare happy faces. But what's so fascinating about an office? Okay I know I already mentioned it's all about it's people. But againindispensablenating? (Sorry the interrogation affair doesn't seem to get over). So like always, after I come up a question,I'll be answering it too! And I would say, fascinating aspect about the people is that it's rather enthralling to witness such variable personalities all under a single unit in perfect symphony.
Yes,it's obvious when you're supposed to work with a bunch of people you end up living in harmony with or without choice, but if you look at it through a philosopher's eye, One could say- An office is like an individual's hand with 5 variable sized fingers altogether forming a perfect fist. (Sincere apologies, I genuinely didn't intend to put you off to sleep)

So I would say an office is comprised of the following people,in the order of appearance  right from entering the office to the exit:

  1. The Frustrated / Happy/ Too Cool Receptionist:- Okay so you enter the office, the receptionist is the first person you see. If there's one receptionist,he/she will be supremely frustrated in life. One of those abandoned looking citizens.Well if there are two receptionists,my observation has it, they have to be two opposite personalities. (Okay,I know it sounds like an idea of some perfect couple) But it  stands true. One of the receptionists has to be the happy to help jovial kind of a person whereas the other one is just too cool in his/her fantasy world complied by the foreign accent which develops up in a Mumbai environment,Like isn't that WOW?
  2.  The Subordinate:- This is my personal favorite aspect of the entire office unit. Irrespective of the working background you belong to, the subordinate is even cooler than the cool receptionist and even more dominating than probably than CEO himself.  All he/she needs is few people working at his command.Even if few means two people,it's quite a treat for him. I'm sure he/she has faced enough torture all his life throughout because otherwise no one really cribs about every second thing happening around and thinks he/she runs the office.
  3. The Indispensable Crew:- So who forms a part of the indispensable crew? The indispensable one's of course  (Okay, please do not run away). But seriously the adjective indispensable is just right for this group in particular, the office wouldn't be as secure, clean and organized without their presence. These individuals are one's who ensure that every person entering the office comes in with an actual purpose(though planting a bomb is a purpose actual enough) but here it obviously implies an actual purpose under the office norms. The security deserves a salute on that one. And talking about cleanliness, yes ensuring that everything is spick and span including a telephone(I'm not making it up) It requires ALOT of patience and lastly the resource allocatement team, coordinating every single thing .Okay I missed out another set of important people, the organization drivers. They'll drive you home and make sure you're enthralled enough, they know EVERY minute detail about the office even though they're not even present in the office premises. But otherwise kudos to them, they drive you home safely and share some honest piece of word.
  4. The Efficient Employee:- So this person is one of the most amazing people you would come across in an office. This person knows where he/she stands and has learnt to respect his position well enough  and also the people around him. This individual is always a helping  hand to the confused-traumatized amateur individuals. And but of course such people are the most loved and respected ones at the office. Obviously, they well deserve it.
  5. The Humble Official :- If one needs a clear example of how an individual at an authoritative level should be as a person. This particular character in the office teaches you to enjoy the position while respecting others around you whether it is the junior officials, the subordinates or even the clerk for the matter. Just what you call savoring success with dignity. If you really want to learn something about work, people and not to forget lessons of life,he/she is the person one must approach.
  6. The Incredible Cool Administer:- To explain the incredible part of the story,if we subtract any unethical possibility this individual is obviously incredible at his/her job to be the administer. And it's rather surprising when you see almost every second person struggling hard to put pieces together and this individual gets done with his/her job which mind you involves manifold of everyone else. And for the Cool aspect, well it's obviously cool when you see this individual interacting with every  person in the office when he/she  is already occupied enough with a number of tasks and responsibility to meet a thousand things on earth. Even if the interaction is all about a new reform or an item song for that matter,he/she will find time for it. Yes I mean sometimes the Yo Oh So Cool attitude is rather funny but nevertheless it's Not Harmful.

  7. So next time you think aboutn office or you rather happen to be at your work place do think beyond the workload and endless office demands. The black and white unit has a variable to it which is colorful,do look out for these variable personalities. After all creating a world of people based on their traits isn't one of the worst ideas.

Just Not CUISINE

JUST NOT CUISIN

It's weekend and here's a subject without which my blog would be rather incomplete. As the topic clearly mentions it's CUISINE yes F-O-O-D. (trust me it's a natural response to the word).
They say food, clothing and shelter are the basic necessities of life, I believe in a city like Mumbai, the latter two are more or less a luxury for each and every individual. But in the end, food comes to rescue for the basic survival in this Rich-Poor-Clean-Dusty-Bizarre-Reasonable city. To put in actual words, In Mumbai it's Roti Beyond Roti. In the end, most of the official, unofficial citizens manage to satiate their stomach through some or the other edible means,Be it 10 RupeesVadapav or 150 Rupees Burger!
No information about this post is advanced, it's rather an overview of things, things about and around food  which every Mumbaikar would know. It's just the identical relativity factor which is rather pleasant.

So here are what I call Food Fundas about Mumbai Food:

  • If you didn't have hiccups, you definitely didn't have panipuri at the right place.
  • Just had a Spicy Chinese plate? You're definitely in Mumbai!
  • JUST NOT THE RIGHT Pav Bhaji if you didn't spot 50 grams of butter on your plate.
  • 50 Panipuri's in a row? Well you're a true Mumbaikar
  • If you aren't aware of the shoe-lace relation between the rains and bhajiya's you aren't a countryman.
  • If you haven't asked for an extra puri at the end of chaat marathon, you are probably new to the city.
  • If you still wonder what a cutting chai means, your citizenship needs to be ceased.
In a city like Mumbai, Cuisine simply doesn't mean a combination of spices or a variety of flavors put together. Marked by a blend of cultural and religious beliefs. Just like any other aspect in the city, cuisine is also witnessed in diversified textures, tastes.Below is a list of outlets in the city influenced by similar factors (Because a few places just manage to leave a lasting impression) :

  1. Haji Ali juice centre

Well in the foodological (Food chronology) this place should probably appear in the end, but never mind it was the first one to appear in my head.Well What's so special about this place?  I would say it's location and history.  The juice centre is located at the busy intersection of what was the circle of Haji Ali, abutting the entrance of iconic Haji Ali Dargah. Like the mosque, the eatery too has it's faithful followers,it's been there since 1937! The cramped seating is hardly anyone's first choice though,as most order from the car or get a  take away. But whatsoever, the bottom line is it doesn't stop people traveling from great distances if only to sample the Fresh Strawberry cream.

 2. The Village

India's heart beats in it's villages and human palate in it's taste buds. (Okay, that didn't make much sense). To put it in simple words, nothing serves better than experiencing food in the authentic air of India's heart. The village is about experiencing food from Kashmir to kanyakumari. If you feel you're too caught up in this urban jungle, the village is an appropriate option to feel the swadeshi essence. The place is more about a personal experience than comprehension. And yes, If you're looking for the entertainment bit,it won't be a disappointment either. Entertainment in the tradtional sense of the word is characterized by desi Rajasthani moves and songs coupled with Kutchi Ghodi and Bhangra performances. The Sangeet Mandali keeps you glued. And yes,not to forget, the women love the chudiwali and mehendwali, good enough to please their soul.
They're all over the place,so do consider visting the nearest outlet when you're in a desi mood.

3.Leopold Cafe

3845013193_57ac3bbfde_z
Since 1871,Leopold Cafe! Nothing about this place is exotic or bizarre in particular, maybe it's crowded arena does the catch. But never the less, this place definitely deserves a visit. It won't be an overstatement to identify it as a traveller's instituion, the cafe is crowded  with visitors across the globe. The open dining area is a meteorological place to enjoy food varities ranging from Chinese, Indian,Subcontinental and if you're looking for a bawa wala khaana,it won't be a disappointment either, Irani dishes here are a treat to have.Well if you're a hardcore non vegetarian, the moghlai dishes are to die for, there's chicken, prawn and rice blended into a variety of flavors in a pulav. For an evening visit, this place serves just right during a weekend mood offering a beetower(three pints in a glass canister)

4. Mucchad Paan Wala

What's so fascinating about a paan wala to be on my blog post [Yes, You need to be special enough to appear on this blog B-) ] So,anyway first and foremost Muchhad Pan Wala is India's First Paanwala on Web! Yes,You're welcome on knowing an important fact through this blog. Now what's more in the package? Well you can not only order your paan online but also customize it! They take bulk orders too! So when there's an Indian Wedding menu being set you know where to turn for the meal course end. So much obsession over food made me realize I missed out on the most important detail, the location. It's just at Breach Candy,Haji Ali right opposite St.Stephens Church. And the man behind this mouth watering variety of paan is Mr.Jaishankar Tiwari,a millionaire. The shop was originally established by his father Shyam Charan Tiwari about a 30 years. Along with Jaishankar Tiwari, the shop is managed by 3 of his brothers. The long moustache and the paan business is a family affair.

5.Cafe by the beach

So this place falls at Marine drive, the question again what's so special about this place? Well I would say the ambience, this place has an ambience to die for! As the name suggests it's a cafe by the beach.Isn't
that amazing enough? A perfect place for one those cinematic kind of dates. Just what you call  *Oh So Romatic!* (Oh. I'm not coming out of The Notebook or A walk to remember) Alright so moving on from it's ambience factor,in terms of food this place won't be a disappointment either. The chocolate Tsunami Shake is really a treat to your taste buds. If you fancy some Italian food, there's ravioli filled with tomatoes, pine nut and ricotta all coated with a creamy sauce. In all, the open setup, the sand on your feet, the music and the spaced out seating arrangement offers you privacy and somehow leave you with a euphoric feeling.

It's weekend,if at all you happen to read bits of this post and consider it close to being prudent enough. Do pay a visit at some of these places. Have a Foodie Weekend! :D

Haan Haan Mein Crazy Hoon!

Haan Haan Mein Crazy Hoon

Haan Haan Mein Crazy Hoon
Crazy Crazy Crazy
kisi ko smile dena
Kisi ko khush ker jana
Agar yeh Sab Crazy hai toh
Haan Mein Crazy Hoon
Haan Haan Mein Crazy Hoon.

Kisi ka din bana na
khushi yunhi lutana
Agar yeh sab crazy hai toh
Haan Mein Crazy Hoon

Yes,I am crazy am crazy, crazy crazy.
Haan Haan mein Crazy Hoon.

Okay I'm not bored in life nor did Coke hire me as their marketing manager. But I have to admit, this advertisement rather the Haan Haan Mein Crazy Hoon Coke jingle has managed to create the catchy impact on the masses. I'm traveling in a train, I hear this 40 something lady next to me Chanting Haan Haan Mein Crazy Hoon. My friend tells me this interesting bit about the conference, in the mid lapse, the senior executive officer starts signing Haan Haan Crazy Hoon. (No kidding) I get into the elevator every other day to hear the liftman signing the same. Moving around my society compound I see a bunch of kids jumping around singing and dancing around to the tunes of the same song.

It's fasicnating to see the symphonic impact created by one mere advertisement title song on the masses belonging to different age groups. The youth in the country was supposed to be their desired target audience but the song managed to succeed to a great horizon reaching out to a 5 year old and a 40 year old. Accept it or not,The Meaningless lyrics,Portarying onself as Too Good to be true has managed to capture everyone and it has rather become a local anthem .

Looking at the actual purpose of the advertisement and it's impact. Since 2009,Coke has been trying to create an emotional connect associated with their product through their Open Happiness Campaign suggesting Enjoy Life's simple pleasures. The Crazy for happiness campaign binds together different stories of people involved in random act of kindness. The first advertisement begins with a girl on a bicycle who gives a  hi five on the raised hand of strangers hailing a cab or an autorickshaw followed by a diner offering a coke bottle to to the doorman while leaving the restaurant. Similarly,a Santa is left with a coke bottle as a return gift for the christmas present and a young man feeds stray dogs indicating atypical instances of spreading happiness. The advertisement concludes with a rhetorical question stating- "Are you crazy enough to make the world happier?" Their Tag line is Khushiyaan Lutao, Crazy Kehlao.

Similarly, the Haan Haan Mein Crazy Hoon summer campaign involves the cast from Student of the year revolving around the same message indicating how the youth in the country is willing to do something for others.

Although the entire campaign managed to leave an imprint on the masses (the credit precisely goes to the lyrics and background music) it didn't prove to be good enough for the brand when compared to the previous year's Ummed Wali Dhoop campaign. Alright I'm definitely not here from an analytical market study of the advertisement. My sincere apoligies to the people looking for some serious market research on this post. My only purpose of this post is to share my amusement pertaining to the popurality of this song. One song composed for the purpose of a brand campaign not only becomes a viral but it can be heard as every other person's ringtone, caller tune, bathroom tone(Okay the latter one doesn't exist, but no Wait it does, for a bathroom singer )

After reading this post if you still don't feel Haan Haan Main Crazy Hoon. Please continue reading,I shall  definitely come up with a reasonable post soon or someday (When I succeed to). Till then bare with my blabbering.

The louder language

The LOUDER language

Fie, fie upon her!
There's language in her eye, her cheek, her lip,
Nay, her foot speaks; her wanton spirits look out

At every joint and motive of her body.

                                                                - William Shakespeare

They say, Action speaks louder than words, a woman can speak a thousand words with a mere blink of the eye.(sounds like an overstatement, but yes, every bit of it is true).
In simple sense of the word Body language is a form of mental and physical ability of human non-verbal communication consisting of body posture, gestures, facial expressions and eye moments. But in the broad sense of the word, Body language is a window to the soul. Over the years, body language has been a great source of deriving the other person's on going thoughts.Yes,there exist people who have already perfected this art and know well to manipulate this form of non verbal communication. (The growing number of institutions on soft skills usually named as something like-THE CORPORATE WAY are a clear evidence of the growing demand in the manipulation sector, specially when it's about moulding your body language.)

Body language has always  played a vital part in understanding the other person's message.

In our formative years, cinema alone has taught us the importance of body language. If the girl turns back it's a clear indication that  she likes you back. Alright, that's more like an exaggerated idea. But there's no denying to the fact that body language can be a great source of communication on the very first date. If one looks at it, a first date is often considered to be equivalent to a job interview. You want to present the best side of you and leave a positive impression on the other person. This is just where body language plays it's part in the whole story. If you're stating one thing and your body language is stating something else it can lead to an absolute failed mixed message.  And just what you can call the first and last date with that person.
Well the popular romantic movie The Notebook will be a perfect example featuring,
Young Noah (Ryan Gosling):
“The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That’s what I hope to give you forever.”

I wonder what message would Allie have received had Noah delivered his feelings with an expression as shown in the picture. It surely would have left Allie rather confused whether Noah desired her or the washroom. His expression clearly denotes a strong urge to visit the washroom more than anything else. Oh coming back to reality, that's only an imaginative example.Luckily the movie was set with a perfect body language clearly matching the delivered dialogues.

It's just not the dating section where body language plays a vital role, obviously it's a form of communication, it is bound of have equal rather it has more importance than any other form of communication. The different messages that body language delivers on a day to day basis is rather astounding. Right from a little kid when his mother gives him 'The wide eyed look' which clearly gives him the message that he's goofing up to 'The mutual gaze' shared by people belonging to the opposite  sex often conveyed as attraction.

And it goes with saying, body language has a more than an influential effect on the professional dynamic front. Body language plays a vital role in the business sector as well. For instance, standing too close to a client may make you appear pushy whereas standing too far away could make you seem distant.
According to a recent survey, the body language communicates approximately 50 percent of what you really mean, voice tonality contribution is about 38 percent and your words contribute only 7 percent. A very common reason for conflicts arising out of stated statements, "what she said didn't hurt me,but it's how she said it".

And last but not the least. Coming to one of the most important sector of the society, The  entertainment industry.Over the years, Mr.Bean has been a perfect example of how body language could reflect numerous emotions. Here's a video depicting his opinion about the roller coaster ride.
He conveys his opinion about the ride merely by his expressions without any saying.

On a closing note, I would only like to say, Mark your Body language. It speaks louder than anything else.

The Play Mate And Soul Mate Factor

The Play mate and Soul mate Factor

Kristie Your deep black eyes tell me they've been wandering all this while looking for that one person to trust and forget all it's worries. Monica, that's exactly what Jake told me.
The Picture may not very closely match kristie and
Monica's Reaction! :P
Don't you think he's cute? See that's his picture and I've already narrated the text message to you *blushing*. On the other hand Monica doesn't find Jake cute or trustworthy, she rather finds him cheesy and unattractive. This conversation might just end with a disagreement from kristie's side. And not much to say as such. But it so happens that after a period of a couple of days kristie suddenly feels as if her Knight in Shining Armour is suddenly a Road side Romeo on a cycle (Please bare with the absurd contradiction). After reviewing Kristie's change in opinion, most of us will not agree to the fact that Kristie's change in opinion is somewhere very obviously due to her friend Monica's opinion about Jake. Again here the majority of us will deny the fact that we all play kristie's part in our real lives when it comes to dating.  Even if our friends don't approve the potential guy/girl we tend to re-structure our thoughts and start perceiving that guy/girl as our friends do.

As the tittle suggests the playmate (Friend) and the Soul mate (partner) factor are closely related in our lives. There have been instances of a mental stuck up for individuals when the friends just don't approve 'The Boyfriend' for varied reasons from he wears pants  which are too tight to he needs to get his attitude upright. The boyfriend on the other hand tags it as jealousy from the girlfriend's friend circle side.   And that's what you call the PERFECTLY SANDWICHED. In case you're wondering if that's even a word. Well, no other word describes this situation any better. If it sounds like an exaggerated situation, Ask the Love and Sex Expert segment on frequently asked questions provide quite a testimonial on this seemingly exaggerated reality.

It's not just the Tender Side of the population (as some might describe it). Men are an equal and  accountable victims of the Playmate and Soul mate factor. As the human psychology works, everything is always exciting initially, So is a relationship. As they say,When you're in love, you see that person through rose-tinted glasses. According to a recent survey, Friends can have a big impact, especially in the beginning when you're trying to form your initial impressions,Before the blind love sets in. Guys who have bromances with your buddies tend to be more influenced by what their friends think. If they think the girl is hot and perfect for the him,the guy automatically tends to perceive the girl in the same way.And id they equivocate or see flaws, his perception mechanism is quite likely to work in the same direction.

At the end of the day,Friends and their views are precious and meant for you own good. It's not necessary that they're always jealous or always right for that matter Striking a balance between their views and perceiving reality is where the challenge lies. On that note, Have a challenging life and learn to enjoy and acknowledge the soul mate and playmate factor.

The Instant Frenzy

The INSTANT Frenzy

With the quantum of messaging service, the need for instant messaging grew stronger. Thus began the custom of BBM- BlackBerry Messenger. Symbolized by the blackberry logo, BBM today stands as another petite version of a social networking website. It was in the year 2008,when Facebook grew momentum and so did the flow of varied emotions between teenagers(NOT literally). But Facebook did become a dairy to many teenagers with fluctuating indiscriminate mental state from- Happy to sad,sad to hungry and horny(the latter one has also been updated).

Coming back to the action starts here- BBM. Which today stands as a TOI, NDTV,HT,TIMES NOW for many. In some cases it wouldn't be an understatement,it pretty much serves right to the aloof news paper readers, news viewers. The Broadcast messages tell you a great deal, right from the demise of a dignitary to the opinion of every other individual on almost every other incident occurrence in the city(The UN-REQUIRED ASPECT). And yes, talking about the exorbitant BBM  aspect,we definitely mustn't forget the friends of friends who are always looking for FRANDSHIP.
The  broadcast follows like: Add maH beStiE Tom- sweet by nature,haWt guy. gaLs don't MiSs out on him.BerRy PIn-XXXX. And yes,we shouldn't miss out on the range of kiss, wink and eyelash expression smiley's used on the mere AdD MaH BeStiE Broadcast,I'm sure with Hawt Language and range of smileys used,Tom has a long way to go with his queue of female following(Sense the Sarcasm).

Got a new bestie *dancing* 2marrow Hindi exam *crying* Marine Drive <3<3 21st *waiting*. It's no temperamental attack. It's a status update with huge defilement of the English language with astounding spellings and minimal use of punctuation and most importantly an immeasurable dose of entertainment. There's another application to the idea of status update-Voyage information. This application of status update tells you where the person is,was and plans to go. Even a visit to the local restaurant becomes of utmost importance. And not to forget, these status updates provide the best of movie reviews and weather updates which tell you what time of  the year it is.(YES,One wouldn't know otherwise)

And here comes the favorite part for the so-called happening BBM users, the best of clothes are put on,enough make up to alter your features and it goes without saying, One has the best hairdo ofcourse . Well that was one visit to the washroom to click 100 pictures,Exotic you see. Well it's just not the girls who seem to be highly obsessed with the whole idea of clicking tons of pictures anywhere and everywhere,Guys are an equal healthy competition to the self proclaimed photographer and model  delirium. That's the sad story of the Display picture effect,to make your life look cool. Showcase yourself as an exorbitantly outgoing beautiful person.

Yes,BBM has been a boon in it's own profuse ways.It stands as an instant contact medium, file sharing source, group reminder leaflet and even a dating hub(no exaggeration ). But the entertainment it( BBM users) provides is beyond association. Afterall,it has had maximum users than most of the instant messaging service. It has managed well to get enough people glued to it 24-7.
